From The Bride: On September 12, 2015 Matthew and I met at my cousin’s wedding, in which he was a groomsman. How we had never met until that day is beyond me, because we had several mutual friends, but I guess we will chalk that up to the whole “right place at the right time" thing. At the reception, another one of my cousins told him that I wanted to drive his jeep (which I had seen him driving earlier that day, but I never really said that I wanted to drive it, she was just trying to play matchmaker). His response: “I don’t let anyone drive my jeep…” Well guess who drove his jeep that night?! We became immediate friends. We just clicked. We talked most every day from that point on. Then a few months later, it snowed and on my way home from work they closed the highway and I was stranded. Without hesitation, he said I’ll be there soon. He called into work and came to rescue me. We spent the rest of the day in the mountains playing in the snow. That’s the day I knew. I knew I wanted many more of this kind of adventures with this guy. And the rest is history! Fast forward to September 22, 2018. For a few years, I had been wanting to go to Savannah, GA to see the big beautiful trees, ya know the kind with the moss hanging on them? On that Friday I got told to pack a bag, we are going somewhere! I thought it was a surprise for my birthday which was only a few days away. He didn’t tell me where we were going until we got close and it was obvious. I had no idea that when we got there, Matthew would ask me to marry him under those trees that I had been dying to see. You see, he’s not the type of guy to propose on or near a holiday or birthday, which made it that much more of the perfect surprise. He asked my sweet Madison to take our picture in front of the trees and I turned around and he was on one knee. The place was perfect. The ring is perfect. Madison being our photographer was perfect. I’m not sure which one he made happier that day, as Madison had been asking him for about two years when was he gonna marry her Mommy. Now it was finally going to happen! Now, here we are September 22, 2019, and the day is finally here! Four years after meeting at a wedding and exactly one year after Matthew proposed. It’s our day. It’s our wedding this time. It’s our first day of the rest of our adventures. And we cannot wait!!
