From the Bride: Brian and I met working in a factory in Murfreesboro, TN. They put us together as partners to build headrests, the poor guy was stuck with me after that point. We both had very personal matters going on at home, and I just kind of forced him to listen to me vent.. When he started responding with advice and things going on with him, it was very evident he did care and was listening. We became best friends and tried to help each other through our darkest of days. It came to a point where we just fell in love. Our first date was in a random open field, in the back of a pickup truck. He played music, we slow danced, and when he kissed me, the rain poured on top of us. This is what we refer to as our perfect storm. He proposed a short time later that year. It was perfect. He took me to Oak Ridge, TN. We went on a hike, out to the Peninsula of Melton Hill Lake, and had a picnic. He got down on one knee and I promised to be his forever. The following year, we went to the courthouse to get married. It was a spontaneous decision, but we had been going through so much, Brian wanted me to know that I would have someone by my side through it all. We faced many more hard years together, made a lot of good memories along the way, but in 2018, Brian proposed again, with a ring he had his eye on for years, but simply could not afford. With my mom being sick, we wanted to give her a lasting memory of us, so we planned a wedding ceremony. Little did we know, it would show us more than we had experienced in our 4 years together. Our vow renewal took place the month of our 5 year anniversary. My father had several heart attacks, had been revived 2 months before with emergency heart surgery. Having him take that long walk with me to meet Brian at the alter meant the world. My mom was able to witness it before her health got any worse, the day was perfect. I do not regret waiting for our ceremony. Walking down the aisle, everything we had been through flashed through our minds, the memories we made played on repeat, and the person that we chose to go through life with was just a few short steps away from reciting the vows we never once took for granted. With our family, friends, and God as our witness, we promised each other a lifetime of more memories and our vows to be proven day in and day out.
