From The Bride: Our Story
In March 2018, I got a text from a friend telling me that someone wanted my number. When I asked who, she told me it was Matt (This was actually a second attempt. The first was from a different mutual friend) After some thought, I finally told her yes. I had been praying for quite a while to meet someone, but I felt the answer to that prayer was very far away at that time.
Matt text me the next day, and we ended up having a phone conversation a couple of days later. He asked me if I was interested in meeting for lunch the following day. I agreed, but I decided to keep it to myself until I saw how it went. He did the same.
We met for lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, we decided to go to East Rim Overlook. It was snowing and so beautiful. We spent over 5 hours together just talking. It was fun and easy which I didn't expect. I continued to pray that I would have discernment and not waste anyone's time on something that wasn't going to go anywhere.
We finally decided to let our friends and family in on our little secret, and they were so excited. It was then that we found out something very interesting. Matt's mother shared that she saw me on a news interview about a hiking challenge going on in our community in 2015. One of her friends commented that I would be a good match for Matt, so she said she was going to pray about it. I wasn't at the interview by happenstance. I'm a firm believer that if God wants something to happen, it's going to happen. I truly believe that God orchestrated our relationship before I even met Matt. He has blessed us tremendously, and we're looking forward to our future together.
